Spelling is not a moral issue. It is not an intelligence issue. Good spelling is related to factors like visual sequential memory, and good spellers were born with the talent.
Maybe you were not born a good speller, and somewhere, deep down, you feel bad about this? Perhaps you were shamed about this in some way at school? If people were mean to you about it (during spelling bees?) they did not had a good background in neuro-psychology.
